Introduction
 
Scott went to Massey University where he completed his BBS Marketing degree. He enjoyed the allure of making TV commercials but always applied himself to the science of Marketing initially as a Marketing Analyst then as a Direct Marketing Specialist at Vector. In his first role as a Product Manager, he gained comprehensive knowledge about what motivates consumers to make purchases. Over the last 15 years, Scott has worked in many roles such as Marketing Manager where his position progressively became more senior. Scott was a regular speaker at Massey University where he taught strategy and consumer behaviour for 3rd year and post graduate marketing students. This opportunity gave Scott a sense of pride in his work as he was able to celebrate accomplishments and achievements with his students in the early stages of their career. He reflects this experience as fulfilling and motivating for him to make a difference in people’s lives. Scott believes that his Marketing career has never been boring. It has enabled him to sail around the North Island of New Zealand on a warship, to travelling on the inaugural flight on the Boeing 777 with Air New Zealand, appearing on the longest continuous shot TV commercial and delivering 1000 muffins to the secondary school’s rowing Maadi Cup competition. Additionally, ­­­­­Scott was recognised for 2019 Travel Weekly Magellan Gold Award - Hospitality Marketing – Website, 2019 HSMAI Silver Adrian Award and TVNZ NZ Marketing Awards 2015 - Category Finalist. Over the space of his career, Scott h­­as worked for Heritage Hotels (Heritage Hotel Management), IAG New Zealand (State Insurance and AMI), Massey University Mercury Energy (Mighty River Power) and Vector BTI New Zealand (HRG New Zealand). Scott is able to apply those entrenched marketing practices and experiences from his 20 + year career to assist his clients in a different way to approach their problems and help develop initiatives to drive growth for the business. He is able to bring extensive knowledge in Marketing and Digital to help find solutions to client’s needs. Scott understands that every business has the same or similar issues, they are usually just at a different place to others in dealing with them. He is extremely skilled in problem solving and is able to get to the heart of the issue. For instance - Scott came into the hotel industry where the Online Travel Agents and Channel Distribution Model was a problem after the GFC. However, he came from an insurance background where he had initially dealt with channel distribution problems and was able to determine strategies and solutions to drive results effectively.
