Introduction Maria is an experienced marketing strategist with over 20 years working in marketing - covering marketing planning, marketing coaching and implementing plans to a budget. She loves to ensure that any work that she does delivers the right result for a client, making sure there are runs on the board and that marketing activity pays for itself in delivering business success. Maria’s extensive experience covers digital & mobile strategy and plans, brand development or rebranding, project management of market research, websites, advertising and company collateral material for clients, and she especially enjoys working with entrepreneurs and start ups to ensure they have the right plan of attack to set themselves up for a lifetime of success.
If you’ve been around long enough, you’ll remember the original Milky Bar Kid and the Toyota Hilux “Bugger” ad campaigns. Both became iconic Kiwi commercials to be updated years later. Maria loved watching these ads, They made her laugh and thought how much fun it would be to have a job making them. She didn’t end up in an advertising agency, but worked with them a lot over the years. Maria’s first job after varsity was as a Marketing Co-ordinator with American Express; a fantastic training ground for a graduate.
She continued to gain the management experience in corporate environments across highly competitive financial and telecommunications sectors over 15 years and took that experience with her when she went out on my own as a freelancer. She is very pragmatic, with a strong commercial focus and am experienced in all areas of marketing and distribution channel management. Maria’s experience enables her to successfully work alongside her clients as their marketing partner.
She’s worked across a range of different industries and have helped clients achieve clarity around their marketing and sales strategies as well as implementing their marketing programmes for them. She is experienced in digital marketing having established digital strategies for businesses to improve sales and customer loyalty. She enjoys helping clients with their communications and brand strategy. Getting this right makes everything else fall into place. She’s hands on, so you can expect her to assist in rolling out your plan. She can project manage your website build and make sure you that you can be found on Google, gather customer insights or develop email or advertising campaigns. She worked with budgets of all sizes and have built marketing budgets from the ground up for clients ensuring that they achieve their desired goals.
Maria is a good listener, easy to work with and have maintained long term relationships with some of her clients. She has a tendency to ask a lot of questions but that’s all part of the process to ensure you get the best marketing solution for your business. Her skills are up to date and comitted to continuous learn especially in the area of digital and marketing which is constantly changing.
