IntroductionI consider myself to be a talented Designer / Art Director and great all rounder with a wealth of experience and industry knowledge. I’m a thinker and a doer, who can pick up a brief at any stage and run with it from small jobs right through to major advertising campaigns with multiple touch points. After graduating with a Diploma in Graphic Design I soon discovered the world of advertising. Well, what a wonderful place to be! Communication and design that people respond to, influences what you think, challenges, is helpful, informs, offers endless opportunities and outcomes. And I get to create it! I believe if you work on something and you don’t get excited about it, how can you expect the target audience to be. I love the fact that you never know what you may be working on next, what challenges are ahead, and how can you answer the brief in a motivating and compelling way. The opportunity to really use what you know as well as learn new things to answer a brief. Never a dull moment. One moment you can be designing a logo for the local cafe and then you’re working on a major advertising campaign across multiple channels. Big or small it all has its place and a job to do and I really enjoy the whole creative process, developing and producing great work and achieving a great result whatever the task. I have a wealth of experience in advertising and design coupled with all round experience across all forms of media and have touched just about every type of business big and small. I have worked with and learnt from talented, fresh thinkers and all of this has helped shape my thinking and ability to solve tasks well. I have seen what works and what doesn’t and fully believe you need to keep thinking, be open to the new and be aware, to stay on top of your game. Experience and knowledge count for sure and so does the ability to keep up with the play. Arriving at a communication or design solution should never be easy, or you’ve just not thought about it hard enough. It’s a process and the more I know about a business or the job at hand, the better the result.
